Our culture has accepted with nonchalance the values of violence. The hero kills and destroys, always for some perceived or fabricated just cause, anything to show that the good guy kills because he must. Maybe the targets are all zombies, robots, or in the mindless service of some tyrant, but always at play is the dehumanization of the enemy. In building and teaching such values, we create the psychology of war, and are daily surprised to see it raging all around us.
